Flustered
Wednesday, August 24, 2011Instead, I'm feeling somewhat flustered and harrassed and generally kind of arrrgh.
It's all a bit stressful, this lawyering lark. Nobody mentions that, at university.
Nobody warns you that your work might actually have consequences. Might actually have an impact on someone's welfare, or family, or livelihood.
God only knows how the doctors do it. Talk about pressure.
If you're looking for me, I'll be hiding out under a mountain of paperwork. Possibly weeping into the whisper-thin pages of a textbook and muttering senselessly about effing clients and effing colleagues and effing work.
Please send cocktails.

ReplyDeletesending you hugs. please send some back to me.
Law sucks.
ReplyDeleteI send you both mahoosive cocktails/hugs/career changes.
Oh Kirsty, sending you lots of good energy and hugs (and cocktails). Take a deep breath. Maybe tea helps? Will be thinking of you. Feel better.
ReplyDeleteFeel Your Pain. Hugs, cocktails, new pastures sent to you (am sending some to myself too!)
ReplyDeleteVirtual cocktails and huge being sent your way. Alcohol after work cures all ills! Hope it gets better soon.
ReplyDeleteThat is a super cute picture... Yeah it would be nice to feel that way. Huge hug and copious amounts of boozy drinks x
ReplyDeleteI will be buying you a cocktail very soon, x
ReplyDeleteLaw is hard, I had those days when I worked in law. At least you still FEEL SOMETHING. I vividly remember one of the attorneys I worked for expressing NO SENSE OF INJUSTICE that an innocent man was going to be stuck in prison due to a procedural error. Meanwhile I was stomping around the office going, "But it's WRONG! It's WRONG!" while he just shrugged.
ReplyDeleteKeep feeling bad, it will help you fight the good fight. In the meantime I've made a note in my little book -- one cocktail, coming right up (as soon as we can get to Scotland). <3
(((((Kirsty))))) and (((((Rachel)))))
ReplyDeleteAlso sending you both virtual cocktails. I wish I could buy you each a real one.
Aww thank you so much ladies! And Rachel, hugs and cocktails right back at you xx
ReplyDeleteAh, gee. We don't always cope very well, sugar. Booze always helps, though. xx
ReplyDeleteHave you heard of Karen Walrond and Chookaloonks? I like her blog a lot and am thinking about taking her new course to combat my current bah humbugs. After reading your post, I thought I would pass along the link in case its something you'd be interested in too. :)

wishing you virtual hugs and real cocktails.
ReplyDeleteOh Laws. I have lost many a friend and husband hours to the laws. They are cruel. Can I offer you hugs and cocktails.
ReplyDelete(I hope I get back to the doctoring soon - although "clients" tend to be worried less about the money)
