If you go down to the woods today...

Wednesday, April 11, 2012

...you won't find anything. But if you had gone down to the woods a couple of weeks ago, you would have found one awkward, overdressed lady, one talented, camera-wielding lady and one slightly disdainful greyhound. Oh, and some very confused dog-walkers.

Dress: ASOS. "Customised" by hacking the sleeves off with scissors at midnight the night before.
Cardigan: Zara. Belt: My dad's, from when he had a smaller waist than me
(i.e. a loooong time ago). Earrings: Etsy. Socks: New Look. Shoes: Dune.
Smidgen's hideous faux-Grecian collar: A gift. I don't want to talk about it.

Outfit: As before.
Posing under a tree without getting poked in the eye: Harder than it looks.

Dress: River Island via ASOS. Jacket: Mango
Earrings: As before. Ring: Belonged to my nana.
Hair: Insane.

So there you have it. This is what happens when talent (Lauren's) meets procrastination (mine). I don't want to be a fashion blogger (because, hello), but I had fun playing around in my wardrobe and even more fun hanging out with Lauren and Smidgen for a day, and, well, I did tease you about our not-so-super-secret project, so here are the results. You can see more and read Lauren's take over on her blog. Hope you like them! (And if you don't, I DON'T WANT TO KNOW. Mkay? Thanks.)

  1. Eeek! Love these pictures! Also WHY don't you actually do a quiff in your hair? It suits you, and looks bad-ass.

    1. I have thought about it! But I'm not sure there is enough hairspray in the world to get my floppy, listless hair to stay upright. Need some quiff tips.

    2. My hairdresser taught me how to quiff- haven't done it for ages but it does look ace... First off, shampoo and no conditioner, dry and backcomb like crazy, then use a tiny bit of GEL (yeahhhh 90s!) and sculpt/pin into desired shape. Works on me!

  2. You look like a natural! As does Smidgen. I too love the 'insane' hair and horizontal earrings look

  3. I also love the "insane" hair and horizontal earrings look - it might be my favourite shot of the bunch (and they are a very good bunch!)

  4. I love the quiff (also both dresses), and you certainly don't look akward. Beautiful light in the photos too.

I have just bought a necklace and two pairs of earrings thanks to that Etsy link!

    Smidgen is a totally rockstar.

  7. Awww, I love this... Lauren's photos are just ace but they're made even better with your commentary! I did wonder about the hacked dress... it looks fab... and I never thought of the perils of posing under a tree! Think the last 3 pics are my absolute favs – just stunning and so fun at the same time! I demand more you guys!! :)
